The Indian Academy School, Sharjah truly believes in “Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.” (Franklin De Roosevelt.) Prior to this day the children had formed a UAE Flag with their handprints on it. This mammoth feat was accomplished with the creative effort of the students and the staff under the able guidance of our Principal, Mr. Anthony Joseph. The entire school dressed up in the UAE colors and some students in the traditional attire of UAE, assembled in the Auditorium. The tiny tots of Kindergarten found it thrilling and the students of the primary and the middle section felt proud to be a part of this event as they rendered the UAE National anthem in unison. The special school choir sang songs in Arabic offering salutations to the UAE. A special presentation on the history of UAE was delivered by Juwairia of grade 7A. To add grandeur to the day’s celebrations, the entire Arabic department had arranged for Arabic tea and sweets. With Arabic songs hailing the UAE and traditional dances depicting the rich culture and customs of the UAE were a few highlights of the programme.

It is indeed of paramount importance that these celebrations will help to encourage children from all cultures and backgrounds to express their dedication and devotion towards the UAE. It also helps to understand our local culture and national identity. We at TIAS salute to all the national leaders of UAE.
