Expected attendance in the Primary School is five days a week ( Sunday to Thursday ) from 7:50 a.m to school dispersal. Exceptions are made for the Foundation Stage settling period, teachers will discuss this with the parents when the child starts. As per the UAE Ministry of Education regulations, Grade 2 and above students who miss 25 days or more in any school year may be at risk of not being promoted to the next year group unless they have been legitimately excused from school as a result of special circumstances. These special circumstances must be clearly communicated and agreed upon with the Principal prior to the absence. Examples include extra- curricular participation, or extended illness. Excused and unexcused absences are recorded in each student’s individual records and reports. If your child is ill, please notify the school in the morning of each day of absence, either by emailing or calling the main reception.

We believe that the schools should help students learn to respect property and develop feelings of pride in community institutions. All buildings, equipment, supplies, materials and books are considered the property of The Indian Academy. With each student lies the responsibility to care for school property and the school textbooks , supplies, and equipment entrusted to his/her use.Any act of willful damage to school property is considered a major offence. This includes writing or defacing furniture, walls, text and library books, or any other school property or equipment, as well as causing any other damage, destruction, or defacement to the school’s property. Students who cause such damage will be responsible for all costs to cover repair or replacement, in addition to other disciplinary action which may be taken. Students must also take of their personal belongings. However, if anything is lost it must reported in time.

At The Indian Academy, the uniform is worn with pride. It is an outward sign of the choice that students have made to join the TIA community and a way to demonstrate daily their commitment to fully embrace the values and spirit of TIA.

Every member of the TIA community has rights and responsibilities which enables members of the community to coexist, and to realize his or her goals. It is through mutual acceptance of responsibilities that rights exist. A right exists only to the extent that there is a responsibility on the part of others to respect that right. • Following directions
  • Being seated by the time class starts
  • Giving others an opportunity to learn
  • Remaining in class until asked by the teacher to leave the room
  • Moving through the buildings in an orderly, quiet and safe manner

We believe that every student has a RIGHT to be safe and secure in the school community and that every student has a RESPONSIBILITY to:

  • Respect the security of others
  • Deal with conflict in an appropriate manner

We believe that every student has a RIGHT to expect reasonable and socially responsible behavior from others and that every student has a RESPONSIBILITY to treat him/ her and others with respect by:

  • Speaking and acting in a socially responsible manner

We believe every student has a RIGHT to be part of a school of which he/ she can be proud of and that every student has a RESPONSIBILITY to take pride in the school by:

  • Keeping his / her own appearance neat
  • Following the school dress code
  • Every student has a RIGHT to his/ her good name. Every student has a RESPONSIBILITY to respect the reputation of others.
